Lamco Development ("we," "our," or "us") operates the QuickCapture mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our App.

1.1 Information Collected Automatically

Device Identifiers

  • Android Advertising ID: Used by Unity Ads and Google AdMob for ad targeting and personalization (free tier users only)
  • Firebase Installation ID: A unique identifier for analytics and crash reporting
  • App Set ID: A privacy-preserving identifier used for ad attribution

Location Data

  • Approximate Location: Derived from your IP address by Unity Ads and AdMob for geo-targeted advertising (free tier users only)
  • Note: We do NOT collect precise GPS location data

App Usage Analytics

  • Screen views and navigation patterns (via Firebase Analytics)
  • Feature usage and interaction data
  • Receipt scanning frequency and patterns
  • Button taps and user interactions

Diagnostic and Performance Data

  • Crash Reports: Stack traces, device state, and error logs (via Firebase Crashlytics)
  • Device Information: Model, Android OS version, app version, screen resolution
  • Performance Metrics: App load times, feature response times
  • Ad Performance: Impressions, clicks, load times, fill rates

1.2 Information You Provide (Optional)

Google Account Information (Pro Users Only)

If you choose to enable Google Drive backup (Pro feature, $7.99 one-time purchase):

  • Email address from your Google account
  • Name and profile information from your Google account
  • OAuth access tokens (temporary, for authentication)

Important: This information is only collected if you explicitly sign into Google Drive. Cloud backup is entirely optional.

Purchase Information

  • Purchase history (Pro upgrade transactions)
  • Transaction IDs and purchase tokens
  • Note: Payment details (credit cards, billing addresses) are handled entirely by Google Play and are never visible to us

User-Created Content

  • Custom category names
  • Document tags and notes
  • Voice note transcriptions (processed on-device)

1.3 Information Processed Locally (NOT Transmitted)

The following data is processed entirely on your device and is NOT sent to our servers or third parties:

  • Receipt Images: Scanned using ML Kit, stored locally or in your personal Google Drive
  • OCR Text: Extracted on-device using Google ML Kit
  • Voice Notes: Transcribed using on-device speech recognition
  • Financial Data: Amounts, vendors, dates extracted from receipts remain local
  • Document Categories: All organization and tags stay on your device

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Core App Functionality

  • Scan and process receipt images using on-device ML Kit
  • Extract text via OCR for searchable documents
  • Store receipts in local database (Room)
  • Generate PDF documents with optional OCR text layer
  • Provide voice note annotations
  • Categorize and organize documents

2.2 Advertising (Free Tier Only)

  • Display banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads
  • Target ads based on Advertising ID and approximate location
  • Optimize ad delivery through Unity LevelPlay mediation platform
  • Measure ad performance and effectiveness

Pro Users ($7.99): See ZERO ads and have NO ad-related data collection (no Advertising ID, no location tracking for ads)

2.3 Analytics and App Improvement

  • Understand which features users find most valuable
  • Identify and prioritize bug fixes
  • Track feature adoption to guide development
  • Improve user experience and app stability
  • Measure app performance and reliability

2.4 Security and Fraud Prevention

  • Detect tampered or modified apps (anti-piracy)
  • Identify rooted devices (security risk)
  • Prevent fraudulent purchases and ad impressions
  • Verify app authenticity via Google Play Integrity API

2.5 Cloud Backup (Optional, Pro Only)

  • Upload documents to your personal Google Drive
  • Sync documents across your devices
  • Enable access to receipts from multiple devices
  • User-Controlled: You choose what to backup and when

3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

3.1 Services We Use

Firebase (Google)

  • Services: Analytics, Crashlytics, Authentication
  • Data Shared: Firebase Installation ID, App usage events, Crash logs, Email/name (only if using Drive)
  • Purpose: Analytics, crash reporting, Google Sign-In for Drive

Unity LevelPlay (Ad Mediation)

  • Services: Ad mediation platform
  • Data Shared: Android Advertising ID, App Set ID, IP address, Ad interaction data, Device information
  • Purpose: Serve and optimize advertisements in free tier

Unity Ads

Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)

  • Services: Secondary ad network
  • Data Shared: Android Advertising ID, IP address, Ad interaction metrics
  • Purpose: Increase ad fill rate and revenue

Google Play Services

  • Services: In-app purchases, Google Drive API
  • Data Shared: Purchase history, Google account email/name (if using Drive)
  • Purpose: Process Pro upgrade, enable cloud backup

  • Services: Document scanning, OCR text recognition
  • Data Processing: 100% on-device (no data transmitted)
  • Purpose: Core receipt scanning functionality

3.2 Data We Do NOT Share

3.3 Pro Users Have Enhanced Privacy

When you upgrade to QuickCapture Pro ($7.99):

  • No advertising networks active (Unity Ads and AdMob disabled)
  • No Advertising ID collection
  • No location tracking for ads
  • Reduced third-party data sharing
  • ⚠️ Analytics and crash reporting continue (helps us improve the app for everyone)

4. Data Security

4.1 Encryption and Protection

  • In Transit: All data transmitted uses TLS/SSL encryption
  • At Rest: Local database secured by Android app sandboxing
  • Cloud Storage: Google Drive uses Google's enterprise-grade security

4.2 Fraud and Tamper Detection

We use Google Play Integrity API to detect:

  • Modified or tampered app installations (piracy)
  • Rooted or jailbroken devices (security risk)
  • Emulators (prevents fake ad impressions)
  • Apps installed from unofficial sources

4.3 Access Controls

  • Local data accessible only by QuickCapture (Android security model)
  • Google Drive data accessible only by you (your Google account)
  • No backend servers storing your receipts or documents

5. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

5.1 Control Advertising

Opt Out of Personalized Ads

  1. Open Android Settings
  2. Navigate to Google → Ads
  3. Enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization"

Reset Your Advertising ID

  1. Open Android Settings
  2. Navigate to Google → Ads
  3. Tap "Reset advertising ID"

Delete Advertising ID (Android 12+)

  1. Open Android Settings
  2. Navigate to Privacy → Ads
  3. Tap "Delete advertising ID"

5.2 Control Cloud Backup

  1. Open QuickCapture
  2. Go to Settings → Cloud Storage
  3. Tap "Disconnect Google Drive" to disable backup
  4. Delete files directly from your Google Drive account

5.3 Upgrade to Remove Ads Entirely

Purchase QuickCapture Pro ($7.99 one-time) to:

  • ✅ Remove all advertisements permanently
  • ✅ Stop all ad-related data collection
  • ✅ Eliminate Advertising ID tracking
  • ✅ Remove PDF watermarks
  • ✅ Enable cloud backup features

5.4 Request Data Deletion

What We Can Delete:

  • Firebase Analytics data linked to your Installation ID
  • Crashlytics crash reports
  • Google Drive backups (or delete directly from your Drive)

What Is Deleted Automatically:

  • All local data when you uninstall the app
  • Analytics data after 14 months
  • Crash logs after 90 days

What We Cannot Delete:

  • Purchase history (required by Google Play for tax and fraud prevention)
  • Aggregated, anonymized analytics (cannot be linked to you)

5.5 Access Your Data

  • Local Data: View all documents in the Gallery screen
  • Cloud Data: Access via Google Drive (QuickCapture folder)
  • Export: Generate PDFs or export to ZIP for backup

6. Children's Privacy

QuickCapture is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at office@lamco.io, and we will promptly delete such information.


7. International Users

QuickCapture is available worldwide. Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our third-party service providers (Firebase, Unity) are located.

By using QuickCapture, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws.


8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
